We’re honored to have been featured in North Bay Business Journal, on a topic that’s so important today. We recently met with the Sonoma County Winegrowers Association to discuss John Deere, ag technology, and the future of vineyards.

As a Californian, you know that sustainability is often at the forefront of our minds. That’s why it’s important to highlight steps forward in sustainable agriculture. Here in Sonoma Valley, we’re seeing the modernization of ag technology right before our eyes.

Taylor Serres-Murnig, of Serres Ranch, partnered with the Sonoma Winegrowers Association, John Deere, and Belkorp Ag in a pilot project showcasing John Deere’s SmartApply Intelligent Spray Control. As their choice equipment dealer in the Central Valley, we’re happy to help educate and provide cutting-edge tools in agriculture.

Taylor finished up spraying with SmartApply and said that, with the help of auto-adjusting nozzles, the new technology saved her 45% in time and materials by spraying only when needed–no more unnecessary waste. Breakthroughs in ag technology aren’t only beneficial to the environment, though. Early users of SmartApply have reported a return on investment within the first year of use.

As stewards of this beautiful land, we’re proud to help set an example for the future of sustainable agriculture. In a world in which the climate is shifting, it’s important to set a precedent of responsible land management as a way forward for the planet and for future generations of farmers.
