Do Your Part in Fire Prevention
In California, it’s important that we all do our part in preventing wildfires as best we can. On your own property, you can greatly reduce the risk of fire by clearing unnecessary brush and dead foliage. The mowing options listed above–especially the rotary cutters–are a great help. After cutting brush, use a landscape rake and loader to gather and move it. We recommend placing recently-cut brush in a compost pile. If you’d rather, you can recycle it for use in your garden with a John Deere wood chipper. Finally, use a box blade to create a fire break by removing the grass and a layer of topsoil.
